A virus can cause a global disaster.

Tiny to macro, from micro to massive.

Something of no consequence leads to tectonic shifts, really?

Treasure what is good, cling to that goodness. Reject what is bad, avoid the obvious mistake.

Sin isn't small, harmless indulgences,it's destructive forces on an industrial scale, commencing with an individual act of  small wrongdoing.

Sin creates lawlessness, people's lives are affected by a tiny asp or snake, its bite can kill.  A scorpion can kill a robust, roaring lion. Lions can bring down a massive  horned buffalo, but an insect, a scorpion, can poison a bear or execute a " king of the jungle."

Sin starts small, but jumps towards scaled up national prominence,if left unchecked.
A bacterium can cause a simple, but life-threatening disease, while a spark can burn down a vast forest.

Personal flaws can transition to national disasters. Our leaders are not immune, so their following can be led astray.

Ponder this.

Listen, sin destroys our lives, but God restores them. Run to Him, not away. Run into Church. It’s a military hospital for sinners, not a old museum for saints.

Sin: What is It?

Sin:

A brief but cogent definition.

So whoever knows the Right  Thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is Sin

 Legacy Voices, Similar Choices

Many  legacy Media houses have voices similar to propaganda machines. This should not be!

For those who don't know or don't appreciate fully. Here is a snippet.

The Nazi Germany's Propaganda Minister during the rise of Nazism was Joseph Goebbels.
He was appointed to this role as the head of the newly created Reich Ministry of Public Enlightenment and Propaganda in March 1933, shortly after Hitler became Chancellor.

Such an appointment lead, with his input, to W.War 2

A Truth for Everyone.

 A Truth for Everyone:

A truth that I believe  that holds much water.

It’s only when you become unwilling to risk failure that you stop learning, you stop growing and you stop succeeding.

The Din Undoes Us

The Din Undoes Us

Our lives are occupied territory …

occupied by a cacophony of voices,

and the din undoes us.

In the daytime we have no time to listen,

beset as we are by anxiety and goals

and assignments and work,

and in the night the voices are so confusing

we can hardly sort out what could possibly be your voice

from the voice of our mothers and our fathers

and our best friends and our pet projects,

because they all sound so much like you.

We are people over whom that word shema has been written.

We are listeners, but we do not listen well.

So we bid you, by the time the sun goes down today

or by the time the sun comes up tomorrow,

by night or by day,

that you will speak in ways that we can hear

out beyond ourselves.

It is your speech to us that carries us where we have never been, and it is your speech to us that is our only hope.

So give us ears. Amen

 A Prayer by Walter Brueggemann,

The 3 C's

 The 3 C's

    Conflict:

Life is a hard fight, a struggle, a wrestling with the principle of evil, hand to hand, foot to foot. Every inch of the way is disputed. The night is given to us to take breath and to pray, to drink deep at the fountain of power. The day, to use the strength which has been given to us, to go forth to work with it till the evening.

Florence Nightingale

    Contentment:

Contentment is a pearl of great price, and whoever procures it at the expense of ten thousand desires makes a wise and a happy purchase.

John Balguy

    Conviction:

God will never plant the seed of his life upon the soil of a hard, unbroken spirit. He will only plant that seed where conviction of his Spirit has brought brokenness, where the soil has been watered with the tears of repentance as well as the tears of joy.

Alan Redpath

 Conviction:

Many people confuse the conviction of sin with such feelings as inferiority, lack of self-confidence and so on. Yet whoever observes people closely can see that these feelings and the conviction of sin are not only different from each other but in certain regards are mutually exclusive. A diffuse and vague guilt feeling kills the personality, whereas the conviction of sin gives life to the personality. The former depends on people, on public opinion, while the latter depends on God.
