Be True to You:

BTru2U

On an expensive European car, I saw a number plate that read BTru2U.

The fact that the number plate was attached to a luxury car seemed to give the message more credibility. BTru2U sounds great. It’s an idea regularly pushed in contemporary Western nations and believed by many people.

But what I would like to ask is, which part of you are you being true to? Most people I know are selfish, self-centred and narcissistic, is that the part of you you want to be true to?

The Bible tells us “all have sinned and fall short of God's standards,” in other words, the place to start is to recognise our failure and not assume our greatness.

BTru2U may be a good slogan, but it’s an unhelpful life goal.
