Heaven:

 Heaven

Heaven is always gained through a veil of sorrow, tears, anger, pain, suffering and occasionally comfort with warmth.God pulls back the curtain for a moment, the soul enters and loved ones are left wondering.

Reproduce Your Dream in a Picture (Re-worked).

Reproduce Your Dream in a Picture.

From a blur into a hyper-realistic dream.

From a fantasy visualised into a solid technicolour image.

As you read these words, know that words build a picture to lodge in your mind and your heart.  If your ideas and intentions resolve from a blur into a dream ,you need to implement your vision.

Remember, "without a vision, people perish". So it states in the Bible. You need a map,  a blueprint for the future
.
Celebrated  Author and Pastor David Jeremiah, had this to say:
"Future vision comes from past ventures. The new is built on the old As you ponder and pray about your personal dreams, think back over your life, your experiences, your mentors and influencers, your gifts, and your passions. Root your dream in history, and you will have a firm foothold on which to move forward."

Initially based on the Book:Forward by David Jeremiah.

Shadow Play or Aboveground?

 Shadow Play or Above ground?

Shifting sands and Shifting politics

It's possible to bury your head in the sand and defy good reason.  What is more than paramount? How is it that good people can be manipulated into silence at worst and proclaim an injurious diatribe.  Is the chanting that Gazans need to be freed while Israel buries its dead, fights for freedom and wants peace?

The Iranian people have been misrepresented to the world as in league or with the Iranian Iron- fisted theocracy.

Check the recent history or do some  research into the brutal subjugation of the ordinary people of Iran. Excuse the fact that a woman can be  ( and is ) executed for Not wearing her clothing properly in public in Iran. Think what is normal for most western societies at the beach during the hot summer. Remember Iran is hot in summer, it's desert and hot. Try wearing the hijab on a summer day?

Do you remember the suicide bombers in Israel some time back?
Fighting for so -talked freedom in the West Bank. Kids threw stones at Israeli soldiers to elicit some over- proportionate response for the PR war. The kids games they play in the streets of Israel are not the games we played when we were growing up in our more or less peaceful places.

Do you want a hot - headed person or fanatic running a country where the atomic-armed missiles are a push button away from launch? What good does it matter or obtain if Iran loses its key nuclear sites for obtaining nuclear weapons?

Why does Iran produce uranium weapons grade units in underground plants if its just for peaceful purposes?

Why underground if it's for peaceful purposes?

Why build such atomic factories underground?

In other more peaceful and stable countries, we build atomic reactors above ground. Its cheaper and much more effective.

From UK to Russia, from China to America, some countries willingly allowed energy providers to use uranium to produce electricity.

To cook a meal or to heat water cheaply.

But Iran needs to build underground. Under a mountain, then under that feet below. It took special bomb(s) to penetrate the mountain and even though President Trump has ordered successful strikes against Iranian  nuclear sites. It's not really known if the Fordow 'atomic factory' was  disrupted or completely destroyed?
Check for yourself  don't just rely on the biased media. Whether pro or con,it's still biased. You and I are human. Some seem otherwise.

Remember school,in comprehension and discussion or show and ask? How do we analyse the data? Do we just skim or choose deep diving?

Is a country that openly executes gays really appreciate the nuances of the LGBTQA+ manifesto? If Iranian women are forced to wear black( coverall) clothing  ( hijabs ) in high summer  while our women and girls wear bikinis or other light clothing, what am I missing?

Chronic lies are deadly in the sympathetic media. Why and in what world are half-truths continually manufactured for public consumption?

If you're wondering and you're younger than 40 years old, what do you think?

Let me know,  what am I missing?

Do you and I think?

Tools of Awareness and of Cognition?

Tools of Awareness and of Cognition?

A personal reflection and hope

My website inadequately presents (yet hopes that) in some measure via a world- view you are pointed towards answers of
Who we could be?
Why we are here?
What we  could think?
Why we individually matter?
How we can authentically live?
Where we find our purpose?
Why God ultimately  and initially matters?

As the world gets noticeably darker,  our world gets incrementally brighter. So we pray for those who are among us and we pray for those who will one day listen.
Remember if the culture denies you credibility, it despised him first.
If the culture affirms you, thank the sower and the irrigators.
If the culture joins you, thank the Mum and Dad and the wider community of pray-ers.
If the world gets saved, then you and I should thank the Holy Spirit.

Always--- thank God.

Bio-David Hume

DAVID HUME

 (1711–1776)

Historian and Philosopher

( Tabula Rasa or 'Clean Slate'-famous line-- the empty state of our mind when we are born)

Hume’s major work was in epistomology,(  study of knowing?) where he argued that men have no a priori knowledge of fact and no empirically based knowledge of facts beyond their present experience.

Thus, while people know the experiences they presently have, this provides no foundation for proving anything else. The problem, he pointed out, is that any inference to things beyond present experience depends on a cause-effect relation of which experience itself leaves us ignorant. This skeptical conclusion affects the traditional arguments for the existence of God, the immortality of the soul, and almost every other belief one might hold.

Yet Hume’s last word is not of skepticism but of belief.

That is, while we cannot prove even that material things exist outside our present experience, we properly believe that they do. Repeated experiences instill in us the mental expectations and habits we call “belief.”

And while he criticized the theistic arguments in his Dialogues Concerning Natural Religion, he described the psychological grounds of religious belief in The Natural History of Religion. His famous essay on miracles appeared in the same context. Defining a miracle as “a violation of natural law,” he argued that belief in natural laws is so well established by repeated experiences that only experiences of greater regularity—or else a miracle—could upset that belief and lead one to believe in miracles.

But the evidence offered, for miracles, he says, is not that good: it is spotty, inconsistent, from out-of-the-way places, by prejudiced observers. How could it overthrow the better-established belief in uniform natural laws? Hume was indeed skeptical of man’s ability to know, but he allowed the legitimacy of beliefs that have psychological rather than logical grounds. But, it is objected, Hume had too limited a conception of belief.

On his criterion, much of history would be quite unbelievable. But his skepticism elicited work on the psychology and justification of belief that continues to the present day.

Infoscape on Junia:.Was She an Apostle? (Re-work)

Infoscape on Junia: Was She an Apostle?

(Re-work)

Here for the benefit of my readers is  broader information on Junia.

This revelation is astoundingly important. But it's controversial

Junia is a fascinating and often debated figure in the New Testament, specifically mentioned in Paul's letter to the Romans: "Greet Andronicus and Junia, my relatives who were in prison with me; they are outstanding among the apostles, and they were in Christ before I was" (Romans 16:7 NRSV).
The "controversy" surrounding Junia largely revolves around two key aspects:

Her Gender: For many centuries, Junia was widely understood to be a woman. Early Church Fathers like John Chrysostom (4th century AD) explicitly referred to her as a woman and praised her apostolic status. However, in later centuries, particularly from the 13th century onwards, and more notably in some 20th-century translations, her name was sometimes rendered as "Junias," implying a masculine form. This change was largely driven by a theological bias against the idea of a female apostle.

    Scholarly Consensus Today:
The overwhelming scholarly consensus, based on linguistic, textual, and historical evidence, is that Junia was indeed a woman. The Greek name Iounian (Ἰουνίαν) is the regular accusative form of the feminine name Junia, whereas a masculine equivalent (Junias) would be extremely rare or non-existent in ancient sources. Furthermore, the consistent interpretation by early Christian writers as a woman supports this view.
Her Apostolic Status: The phrase "outstanding among the apostles" (ἐπίσημοι ἐν τοῖς ἀποστόλοις) is the second point of contention.

Inclusive Reading: The most natural and widely accepted interpretation is that Junia (and Andronicus) were "outstanding among the apostles," meaning they were themselves considered apostles and held a prominent position within that group. This implies that they were recognized leaders who had been "sent out" to spread the Gospel, a broader meaning of "apostle" than just the original twelve disciples.

Exclusive Reading: Some alternative interpretations, particularly those seeking to avoid the implication of a female apostle, suggest that the phrase means they were "well known to the apostles" rather than being apostles themselves. However, this reading is generally considered grammatically strained and less probable by the majority of scholars.

Key Scholarly Arguments and Insights:
Linguistic Evidence: The Greek grammatical form of the name strongly favors Junia as a feminine name.
Historical Interpretation: Early Church Fathers consistently understood Junia as a woman and an apostle. This historical understanding provides a strong precedent for the modern scholarly consensus.

Context of Romans 16  Paul's greetings in Romans 16 highlight the diverse roles and contributions of various individuals in the early Christian movement, including many women who served as patrons, co-workers, and deacons. Junia's mention fits within this pattern of recognizing women in significant leadership capacities.

Meaning of "Apostle": The term "apostle" in the New Testament is not exclusively reserved for the twelve disciples of Jesus. It is also used more broadly to refer to those who are "sent" by Christ to preach the gospel and establish churches (e.g., Barnabas, Silas, Apollos). Junia's inclusion "among the apostles" suggests she held a similar missionary or leadership role.

Impact on Theology of Women in Ministry: The re-affirmation of Junia as a female apostle has significant implications for contemporary debates about the role of women in church leadership and ministry. It challenges interpretations that claim the Bible universally prohibits women from positions of authority within the church.

In summary, the case of Junia in the New Testament is a prime example of how theological biases can influence biblical interpretation and translation over time. However, rigorous linguistic and historical scholarship has largely settled the debate, demonstrating that Junia was indeed a woman recognized as a prominent apostle in the early Christian church.

Pleasing Men or Serving Christ ?

Pleasing Men or Serving Christ?

A railway gatekeeper, who one bitterly cold night required every passenger to show his ticket before passing through to the train, and was rewarded with considerable grumbling and protesting, was told: “You are a very unpopular man tonight.” “I only care to be popular with one man,” was the reply, “and that is the superintendent.”

He might have pleased the passengers, disobeyed orders, and lost his position. He was too wise for that; his business was to please one man—the man who hired him, gave him his orders, and rewarded him for faithfulness, and who would discharge him for disobedience.

The servant of Christ has many opportunities to make himself unpopular. There are multitudes who would be glad to have him relax the strictness of his rules. If he is their servant, they demand that he should consult their wishes. But if he serves them, he cannot serve the Lord. “No man can serve two masters.” He who tries to be popular with the world, will lose his popularity with the Lord. He will make friends, but he will lose the one Friend who is above all others.

He will win plaudits, but he will not hear the gracious words: “Well done, Good and Faithful!”

‘Lord, what about him?’ John 21:21 NIV

One day Peter looked at John and asked Jesus, ‘… “Lord, what about him?” Jesus answered, “… what is that to you? You must follow me’ (John 21:21-22 NIV). When others disappoint you, remember that you have disappointed others. When others give you bad advice, remember that you have given others bad advice. There is only one person who won’t disappoint you and will always point you in the right direction—Jesus. He doesn’t merely know the way, He is the way. ‘… Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life’ (John 8:12 NIV).

When you follow even the best of Christians, they will sometimes cause you to stumble or be confused. But when you follow Jesus, He will illuminate every step you take. Christ’s own disciples would have disappointed you. Peter was racially biased and sometimes honoured Jews over Gentiles. James and John wanted to call down fire from heaven on those in a village that refused overnight accommodation to Jesus and His disciples. Thomas doubted the truth of the resurrection and said, ‘Unless I feel the imprint of the nails in His hands, I will not believe He is alive (see John 20:25). Yes, people will disappoint you. But Jesus won’t. That’s why the Bible says, … let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. …’ (Hebrews 12:1-2 NIV).

The only people who can let you down are the people you lean on. So, the word for today is—lean less on people and more on Jesus.
