Lost Loves

Social media has changed the fabric of our community. Probably more than most other forms of communication ever have! It enables people to quickly and easily connect with each other. One of the other outcomes of social media is the ability for people to find their lost loves of the past.

Professor Dr Nancy Kalish studied this trend and surmised that in the 90s, 10 percent of people tried to find a lost love. Today, thanks to social media, it has become much more common.

It's not surprising that people look for someone they loved years ago. Relationships can be difficult and messy and require lots of effort.

In the midst of disagreement and tension with a current partner, it is very easy to romanticise a past relationship.

The danger is that it's not actually our partner that we are running from, but ourselves. The Bible tells us to look at ourselves first to find the problems, not our partners.
