Offensive ?

Re- viewing a previous conversation reminds me of a simple question one might ask a person who  seems to be from another nation.

" Where are you from ?"

( A simple conversation starter )

Why do i state that ?

Because i watched a TV program which stated that asking such a question is

Offensive !!!
