Do I make a Difference to Anyone at All?
I believe everyone has pondered that question.
I’m a Christian. As such, I view my life through that lens: through my relationship with Jesus, through the hope and love I’ve found in Him, through the Bible, through personal revelation God gives me as I journey with Him. That unique perspective shapes everything.
I’m not the best representative of Jesus Christ that you’ll find out there. I’m just an ordinary person who has observed and learned a few things. I’m a believer with more faults than he can count. To my amazement, God chooses to love me anyway.”
In the pages of this essay and others, I’ve endeavoured to make encouragement available. It won’t do you any good for me to pretend otherwise. When I walk through a tough time, I long for someone to be genuine and honest and let me know I’m not alone. So I’m trying to do the same for you. While I don’t share my most complex struggles or deepest hurts, I’ve wanted to share some personal experiences and lessons I’ve learned first and I pray they help you in whatever circumstances you find yourself. If you’re struggling, I pray you discover someone cares about you and I can speak from my heart to yours through the written word. If you’re questioning the value of your life, its direction or even considering giving up, I hope you will read on.
First, never give up! Second, never give up! Third, never give up!
No matter how your day goes, the sun always rises the next day. Likewise, I’ve learned every dark season in life comes to an end. If you hang in there long enough, you will reach the dawn. God created that sunrise-sunset pattern to remind us when life gets complicated, dark events can change. Things might look bleak at first, but they shall improve. With night and day, God has given us a picture of hope. The sun always rises. Things will always get brighter. Weeping may last for the night, but a shout of joy comes in the morning” (Psalm 30:5).”
If you believe that God won’t abandon you, then you would agree with the statement that you are not suffering in vain. Remember, God is wholly committed to you.
God has given us a picture of hope; things will always get brighter. “The end of a matter is better than its beginning” (Ecclesiastes 7:8). An encouraging outcome might depend, in part, on how we choose to respond to what has occurred. God has allowed us to trust Him. The breakthrough is available.”
Don’t give up! Never ever, because the dawn is coming.
