Response and Morphing. (Re-Work B )

 Response and Morphing. (Re-Work B)

Is Optimism a progressive skill that can be learned and be applied?

Short answer: Yes.

However bad things do happen to you and me.  Bad things happen to good people. Good things happen to bad people. The Ancients had a number of different ways to cope or gain a better perspective on the circumstances of their and our lives.
My contention is that the obvious response is probably the best one.

Of course that is the simplest answer.

What do I mean?

How we Respond  to the difficult circumstances of our lives is the usual or common answer? Probably the best way is not to be circumspect about the adverse situation.
Choosing to not act out of a belief of not wishing to hurt means we become paralysed to do anything. Which can be interpreted as indifference in the face of grief or trauma of a suffering friend or spouse.

But is that the right answer?

There are perhaps circumstances where acting with a mirroring of the behaviour of a hurting individual is almost always better. Weep with the hurting, laugh with the comic . True!

Should there be some Accountability?

But there are some scenarios where individual and national transformation is needed, resolution of injustice, evil and their victims.  Accountability on an individual or societal level is important to recognize and enact. For example, the following up of accountability of the current UK scandal of the Pakistani grooming gangs and other comparables, like the newsworthy PR war machine in Hamas' Gaza. Or the probable arrest of former President Obama and others.

 Escalation?

However if we mirror some behaviour or indulge in comparable ways then...
For example,
If i respond in kind  to your angry feelings, then the circumstances could spiral or cycle in kind as well.? Thus violence gets violence and so on. Out of control.

How do we stop?

So what else can we do? Someone has to alter their usual reciprocal action. Otherwise you and I could continue to develop an overwhelming situation.

Is Disobedience good?

Perhaps one way to affect change on a national level is to adopt, peaceful disobedience like Gandi and Nelson Mandela and Martin Luther King Jr.
Such Attempts have  successfully morphed the culture and country.

However in China, peaceful protests were squashed by extreme  repressive violence. In Soviet Russia the similar responses occurred. Tragedies are everywhere  Wisdom is needed.

Unforeseeable situations are occurring even in strong democracies.  Where reason prevailed, significantly, unrest dissipated or was resolved. But gradually, the West, though it had disseminated its core beliefs, became the model almost everywhere, nevertheless adverse forces within the West undermined its very foundation. An issue is,what happened to Free Speech and Freedom of Expression? Free Elections don't make a democracy, other core values are needed as well.

Where did we go wrong?

Did we go wrong? Or is this situation the outcome of the.swing of other subtle dark forces over-correcting the original need for change? An example in the turbulent 60s ;did Germaine Greer need to write the wrong?  Yes! The solution was needed. Or for other first- cause feminists to carry and push on the feminist movement? Do they need a bra? Or hiking boots? Men are keenly learning but should they care with the confusion that's rife.

 Sweepstakes?

Is it like some say, disgruntled and unhappier persons who became vocal swept the field with a broom of rugged dystopia collecting more, but not necessarily unhappy combatants?

(Sorry for the mixed metaphor.)

While good is on the decline, evil rears its ugliest.

But like every book and most movies, the unwritten rule of "good always triumphs" is monumentally true.

Evil has its day, but good wins each way.

Of course, some ask  that question, who defines evil or good?.

That's an argument for another day.

3 Major Assumptions to Life:

I would like to introduce you to truths that I found in a book. I believe and agree with the following statements.

( I like these thoughts because I fundamentally believe that you and I cannot not choose.
For to not choose is to choose.)
 So...

Logotherapy rests on three major assumptions:
Life always has meaning
Life has meaning under all circumstances and at all times. There is something instinctive in the human being that leads us to want to preserve life, both for ourselves and also for those whose lives we see to be in danger. Who would not try to rescue the baby from the burning building, for instance? Logotherapy insists on the meaning of life as a reality.

The greatest desire of the human being  is to find meaning.
Since they have been on this earth, human beings have grappied with fundamental questions such as '"Why am I here?', 'How should I live, given that ! must die?' and 'Is there something beyond just my own existence, an overall meaning to life itself?' Logotherapy does not provide answers. It recognises that each person must grapple with and find answers to these questions.

3. Human beings have freedom of choice. The human being always has the capacity to take a choice, to take a stand. We have the capacity to choose meaningful directions in our life and something within us will make us uncomfortable with choosing anything else in the longer term.

Although these three assumptions are true,a further thought is that the task facing the individual is that the therapist is not offering a template or blueprint or schema or wire frame for a meaningful life but to point each person to their own unique answer.

( The above essay is based initially on Victor Frankl's Logotherapy as he called it. It was based on his survival during W. War 2 in a Death camp.
His experience there is its basis.)

Life, Happiness and Meaning

Life, Happiness and Meaning:

( What's love got to do with it?)

Life never guarantees happiness, but it does offer each of us meaning.

Perhaps when we look after number one too much,we forgo the Pleasure and Meaning of helping others find Pleasure and Meaning.

What do You think or feel?

Given that every life matters, including our own, we all attempt to preserve and prolong it.

Heroes give up their own right to life and attempt to save and preserve the right to life of others. We as a society, applaud the acts of heroism and rightly so. We reward courage, determination and risk-taking, whether in a war hero,a billionaire or stay- at- home Mum.

Likely you were surprised by the inclusion of a Mum in the above statement? Did this really seem unlikely? Did you honestly think that acts of heroism are limited to  war and conflict in industry 🤔 ?

Ask yourself why you thought that way? Are the acts of heroism limited to the threats to life or the 'ordinary' acts of courage and selflessness in mundane life?

An Amazon of Dreams

One Dream, One Stream.

However, unbeknown to her, her life and her risky departure from the apartment provided a new meaning for both me and my life at that time.

I could not have realised how my life had given meaning to others in that way. Helping another human being, focusing outwards to another, was in this case instinctual, but on reflection personally therapeutic. Our accidental encounter renewed my resolve to help others and perhaps, through this encounter, our story might provide hope for people I have met. As well for those I have not.

Life is often  about our capacity to exchange tragedy for triumph. The answer is found in the value of life and life itself.

Delicious Quotes?

"Is Woke Capitalism rebranded Neo - Fascism or intentional Woke Socialism?"

"Is it the cosying-up of capitalism's meat and Marxist-soy beans in oatmilk sauce? A delicious word salad,a kind of Harris word-scramble."

"With conservative bravado,  Samuel Gregg asserts that 'business does not to engage in Marxist-like consciousness-raising exercises. alter family structures. establish world peace, or even right a nation's historical wrongs',  It would seem that woke capitalists were radical communist entryists infiltrating capitalism in a Trojan horse full of  blue-suited bankers and financiers!"

Long Versus Short? Discourse or Snippet? Believe It or Nip It?

"People are not (in general) influenced by long books or discourse" the American poet John Jay Chapman wrote in an 1897 essay about Ralph Waldo Emerson, "but by odd fragments of observation which they overhear, sentences or head-lines which they read while turning over a book at random or while waiting for dinner to be announced These are the oracles and orphic words that get lodged in the mind and bend a man's most stubborn will."

As well as snippets,  wandering thoughts and overheard part- conversation. Of music stratum and lyrics oft unheard. These are the things that would seem to be the living conclusions of you and me.In Life,Love and Liberty.

Missed

I miss *You * My Darl.

Logic versus Heart.

Logic versus Heart (Re-Work)

I have to let go of bitterness towards God!

Intellectually i know that God always does the right thing but emotionally i am angry towards him. Sometimes He bewilders me by what He allows,  but He has infinite wisdom. He sees the trees and the wood. The wood in the tree and the tree in the wood.

Other times you and I believe that surely we know better but trusting God when we don't know what He is up to? Can be difficult.

Cognisant awareness of His truth is not equal at times to our own expectations and fallibility of our emotions.

Too many times, our emotions lead us into trouble and I believe men can be just as led by their emotional state like women are.

It's a mistake to believe men are as logical as they claim to be!
Men are just as easily led by their emotions as women are.

*Zina* was as logical as me but often she preferred to follow her heart instead of her mind.
Logic and intuition interface was her best practice. But her love nearly always saved the day.
But she often chose to follow her Heart in defiance of her Logic.

Anyway, what do you think?

Are you logic- driven or as I claim, are you emotion-driven? When you decide what course of action to follow, do you justify your decision which was emotion- driven with a logical statement?  Do you believe as a man that you are not emotionally dependent upon yourself or someone who always uses logic to decide what course of action you follow?

I could get some hateful comments for my thoughts, but what do you think about what i claim?

Realised but then Foundered? (Re-Work A)

"In the ensuing years, since Facebook's inception, Zuckerberg's reach grew globally, but his social mission foundered. Events rebuked his hopes, again and again. Society. did not grow more harmonious. It grew more fractious and much of the blame fell on social media."

Facebook in particular faced fierce criticism for, among other(alleged?) offenses, encouraging bullying and shaming, circulating hate speech and lies, spying on the public, polarizing the electorate, and shaping of and the censorship of information, monopolizing the dissemination of information. Social media was transforming society, but not in the way Zuckerberg had promised.
He had posited harmony and integration but achieved fractured societies and social ill -being forecast and invoking cultural chaos and societal demise unfortunately  for the world.

What went wrong?

 Discover the Guise? (Re-Work B)

Our society teaches us that to be ' successful ' is to be authentic a-n-d outspoken.

To give them ' a piece of our mind.' Its not rude,is it?

To ' break out of the mould' is the only way forward.

That self- centred controversy is the way of 'success' That what we say in the ' heat of the moment ' is better than polite acquiescence.  That proper understanding of the moment comes from instant evaluation, not quiet, unhurried reflection.

Thoughtfulness is for lazy ineffective speakers and poor thinkers.

Where would Einstein be, if it wasn't for his quiet individual reflection? He was considered too dumb for any ' real ' position. He was evaluated as a lazythinker and a daydreamer. Not a man of substance but a man of no real use or consequence.

"Authentically speaking" is the best way of relating with people. Caution is for the masses, not for the thought leaders. Hesitation is foolhardy, strike while the iron is hot. Make your mark, opportunity only comes once.

Herd- mentality is for sparrows, not for the elite. Following the crowd is for the crowd.  Elites rule because they alone possess the resources and intellectual prowess.  Though mobs are for mobsters, the crowd is like  sheep looking for a shepherd.  The Shepherd has already visited,he is here among you and others.

Making your Life more Productive ?

Blessing and Power

 Making Your Life More Productive?

All of us know people who are living unproductive lives. Our society is filled with people who offer no productivity to the well-being of themselves, their families, their jobs, or society in general. They are just hanging on.

A leech sucks blood from a host. It takes nutrients without leaving its host anything beneficial in return. Similar to leeches, unproductive people take, but do not give.

One of the ways God will bless you is by making your life productive. He will enable you to do more with your life than exist. He will enable you to make a life that is worth something.35

[Giving; Christian Living, Power]

Ps. 1; 1 Cor. 12:4–7; Eph. 2:10

By Tony Evans

( If you are a student, pastor or a writer, i recommend Tony Evens book of illustrations )

Its in There

 It's in There

THERE WAS a commercial not too long ago for Prego spaghetti sauce. A mother is cooking the spaghetti and the pot is full of what looks like a vibrant, red spaghetti sauce. The aroma appears to be filling the house. The son comes up and looks at his mother cooking the sauce and asks, “Mom, where are the mushrooms?”
She says, “It’s in there.”
“But what about the sausage?”
“Why, it’s in there.”
“What about the ripe tomatoes?”
“It’s in there.”

Prego’s spaghetti sauce had kick and flavor, because of what was inside. Every time the boy looked for something to explain what he smelled, his mother would reply, “It’s in there.”

If you are looking for victory, it’s in the Bible. If you’re looking for transformation, it’s already in there. If you’re looking for power, it’s in there. If you’re looking for deliverance, it’s in there. If you’re looking for a brand-new you, it’s already there. The divine nature has given you everything you need and you can learn about what’s available to you by studying the Word of God.  (2 Tim. 2:15; 2 Peter 1:3)

A Man, A Prison and A Bible

A Man, Prison and a Bible

A man was in prison and was in need of some money. He wrote his mother and asked her to send five hundred dollars immediately. Soon after, he got a package in the mail. It was a Bible. On the top of the Bible, there was a letter that said, “Son, I love you. Pray and read your Bible.”

The man was ticked off. He got on the phone and called his mother. “Mama, I appreciate the Bible, but what I need right now is five hundred dollars.”

She told him over the phone, “Son, pray and read your Bible.” He got more ticked off and hung up on his mother.

He then wrote a letter. “Mother, I know you believe in God, but that’s the problem with you Christians. You are so heavenly minded that you don’t know how to function in the real world. When I need five hundred dollars, I don’t need a Bible. I need a check or five greenbacks! If I need money, don’t send me a Bible and tell me to pray!”

He got a letter back that said, “Son, pray and read your Bible.”

He was so irritated at his mother, that for the six months he was in jail that Bible stayed in the corner.

After a long while, he finally got out. His mother was there to meet him. He could hardly speak to her. “Mama, you let me down. I needed you as my mother and you let me down.”

She said, “What do you mean, son?”

“I wrote you. I called you. I begged you for five hundred dollars and every time you gave me this same old line to pray and read my Bible.”

“Well, son, did you pray and read your Bible?”

“Yeah, I prayed and read my Bible, and I’m still as broke now as I was when you told me the first time to pray and read my Bible.”

“Son, do you have your Bible?”

He reached in his bag and he handed her the book.

“Son, let me ask you one more time. Did you pray and read your Bible?”

“Yes, Mama. I told you I prayed and read my Bible.”

“Son, you neither prayed nor read your Bible.”

She opened up the Bible and at every major divisional section within the text, there was a hundred-dollar bill taped inside of it. If the boy would have just read his Bible he would have understood that the thing he was looking for was in the text. Because he didn’t take seriously the Word of God, what the Word of God had to offer he never received.

Science vs Philosophy ? Or Rationality vs Irrationality? Experience vs Logic? Versus or Essential Roots? Mystery vs Certainty? Unknown vs Charted?

 Science vs Philosophy ( Re-Work )

 Versus or acceptance ?

"The scientific world of matter can be reduced, in some sense, to fundamental constituent elements: molecules, atoms, even quarks. However, the world of experience has primal constituents, as well. These are the necessary elements whose interactions define drama and fiction. One of these is chaos. Another is order. The third (as are three) is the process that mediates between the two, which appears identical to what modern people call consciousness. It is our eternal subjugation to the first two that makes us doubt the validity of our experience -that makes us throw up our hands in despair, and fail to care for  ourselves properly. It is proper understanding of the  third that allows us the only real way out."

This above passage is extracted  from the book,12 Rules for Life: an antidote to chaos. By Jordan.  B. Peterson
( verbatim).

This book is my current read. The above extract echoes a part of my long- held beliefs.  At least similarly and  at its introductory core. Since the ancients have (and i have been able to access ) their philosophy. Life has taken on a desirable  and rewarding dimension(s). While I was raised by book learning with lived out experiences, I discovered that many of my core conclusions were predicated on much- thought -out ancient wisdom. Because the ancients were exactly that- ancient. Should not preclude that very knowledge because we are " modern. " it is our arrogance or hubris that we should think ours is the more modern world therefore more excellently advanced than those who went before.

To set aside wisdom and enquiry of the previous 1000s of years as " old " is the height of stupidity.

We exist because not in spite of.

Best Day Out !

Best Day Out !

Exceptionally Good

Since the passing of My Zina last year until now. Today was exceptional!

While cold the day began with a round of young girls Netball locally.
Pocket Rocket shot 9 dead on. When later that morning, Tango's Mistress placed and played exceptional centre.

Then with the sunshine failing temporarily, the Mornington Peninsula was again bathed in magnificently appointed sunshiny surroundings.  Our hosts were very friendly and attentive with the conversation, drink and food on tap.

As the day progressed, families ruled the time with much laughter, smiles and some tears from the little ones.

Without a warmth, inside and out,I never would have experienced the event quite as such  Moreover, the Hosts were the most. The ' Children ' were not children any more, they are the Mum's and Dads of the next-best generation.

No flaws,no cause for alarm, the world is in good hands. The Grands raised a robustly aware and inquisitive Generation.

Sure, they need their Mums and Dads just like we did when circumstances were tougher but I'm not alarmed.

Thanks to all those who make up their minds, hearts and lives with the openness of a younger discerning family of relationships with love, intellectual complexities and warm-hearted curiosity.

They are a great bunch.

Worldclock's Tug of War ? ( Re-Worked A)

 Worldclock's Tug of War? (Re-Worked A)

  Stasis versus evolution?

Rules and Regulations are made by successful civilizations.  Even by brutal, cruel, autocratic governments.

Marxism as proudly implemented by few mortals by their minds, errant hearts and lives will always break the very poor people they want to govern and appear to uplift.

Hence we have the old empire like USSR and the newer regime, Russia.
Triumph of the system within China under the so called Cultural Revolution as envisaged by left- fallen Mao Zedong.

The invasion of Marxism by stealth limited to gradualism in early childhood education institutions like Kindergartens,  followed with Primary schools and Tertiary education universities. Cultural Marxism is involved in culture wars, even online.

Libraries enabled knowledge -hubs and the sharing of information and of social networking of activism throughout the current state of being.

Safe Schools programs  represents the best way of promoting socialism, cultural Marxist Beliefs and anti-learning movements
It's not in the scope.of this essay to delineate the inherent benefits offered by the advocates of the socialistic left.

God advocated the world rise of Western Feminism while there were men subjugating the weaker second sex globally.  There are still significant and substantial pockets of resistance in the modern world to Feminism's rise globally..

Trouble is brewing in the world because the second sex is too far left-leaning curating netizens for the future good of all civilisations.

While we have reached an understanding and via the courageous actions of women  we have learnt of their long-term issues and beliefs After implementing many crucial social and political mandates, we are now experiencing some reverse discrimination of males. The history clock's pendulum has swung too far to the left-hand end of the movement.

Were they deceived?

Disgruntled, entitled and overly emboldened employees make poor decision- makers.

Logic,common-sense and critical thinking were thrown into a local black hole.
Of course it's not the only thing that matters. Men and women are just as good or bad as each other.

But each need each other to complete the overall picture.

Criminals abound while evil is rampant.  Yes! There are people who ignorantly do evil and then there are genuinely evil people who do wrong.

Which is which? Depends on what they actually do. By their actions you shall know them. Motive and action mashed together.

God does not abandon those who try to do good. Ultimately goodness triumphs, even in the face of fierce opposition.

Woke Revolution? Overview.

 Woke Revolution? Overview.

Sixties Revolving and evolving into Western shared neo-political systems?

"The sexual and cultural revolution of the '6os, when all forms of authority were challenged and undermined and where a range of radical, liberating philosophies, including deconstructionism, postmodernism and feminist, gender and postcolonial theories arose also underpins political correctness and wokeism. As a result, literary classics are deconstructed and analysed in terms of gender, ethnicity and class, the history of Western civilisation is characterised by white supremacism, imperialism and exploitation and Western societies like England, America and Australia are riven with structural sexism, homophobia, transphobia, classism and racism."

The Frankfurt school of neo- classic Marxism championed theorists of German philosopher Nietzsche apparent manifesto of Nihilism, Existentialism and Moral Relativism.

While seemingly able to promote equality, diversity and inclusion, these radical cultural changes actually destroyed the very people they sought to uplift into the mortal framework of Western civilization. In the name of tolerance you and I were made intolerant and divisive.

However conservative values from voices upgraded the overall  decline of the dominance of logic,common-sense and critical thinking. While left-leaning netizens are still ravenously dominant, the culture wars of the past few decades are being bravely fought by conservatives who are rediscovering what we are and what we stand for and having rediscovered are fighting to reach fulfillment and stability  of the basis of Judeo-Christian values and thought.

With thanks for the voice of conservatives like Roger Scruton,Jordan.B. Peterson and Andrew Murray and Abdu Murray  among many others who yearn for the recovery of the blind, lame and disabled.

Pathway to Healing Grief.

A Pathway to Healing Grief.

Grief is a profound and complex emotion, a reaction felt upon the loss of a loved one—most notably so when that loved one is a spouse.

The emotional energy experienced by a grieving spouse can be a heavy burden yet an often unprepared for and often a misunderstood concept. Exploring this emotional energy not only provides insight into the anguish and turmoil associated with loss but also sheds light on the slow yet transformative journey toward wholeness.

To begin:it is essential to grasp what emotional energy is  Emotional energy is the intensity of feelings that arise in response to significant life events, such as the death of a  spouse/partner/ relative. This life -energy can encompass a wide spectrum—ranging from deep sorrow and anger to ongoing moments of joy in reminiscence. For many, particularly those in the depths of grief, emotional energy tends to feel overwhelmingly negative. The loss of a spouse can ignite a torrent of emotions that can be difficult to articulate; feelings of shock, emptiness, and despair often surge within.

For the grieving spouse, each recollection can seem like a double-edged sword—invoking warmth and comfort while simultaneously reawakening sorrow

These moments capture the overwhelming emotional energy that floods through grieving spouses, illuminating the sense of disorientation and loss of identity that can follow such a profound change.

In addition to the immediate emotional turmoil, grieving spouses may also experience a sort of cascading emotional energy—a repeatedly resurfacing wave of grief that impacts various facets of their lives. For instance, simple tasks like grocery shopping or attending social events can be overwhelming. It was like walking on a tightrope, balancing between wanting to move forward and being pulled back into the past. This sentiment resonates widely with those experiencing grief; the emotional energy may  switch between paralysis and mobilisation, making the journey through mourning particularly challenging.

The reality is that grief is not linear, declining overall with time  but is utterly frameless or amorphous. Research suggests that individuals may cycle through different stages of grief—denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance—often returning to previous stages without warning. This fluidity can create confusion, leading grieving spouses to question themselves  and whether their feelings are 'normal'.

I learned to navigate this confusion in time. I discovered the importance of acknowledging my feelings rather than  ignoring or suppressing them, even when i was out and about. Recognising that it was acceptable to feel joy while simultaneously experiencing pain.

I thought that if I smiled or laughed, it meant I was moving on and leaving her behind. But then I realised that enjoying a moment doesn’t erase the love I continue to hold for her.

Another significant aspect of understanding emotional energy in grief is the relationship to time. For many grieving spouses, the initial months following the loss can feel like an avalanche of emotional experiences, where each day seems harder than the previous. The first year,I would describe as a mighty "roller coaster."
However, day by day, I began to recognise shifts in the waves of sorrow, albeit fierce, began to ebb. This slow process captures the broader narrative of healing: that it is utterly natural for grieving individuals to experience a gradual shift in their emotional energy as they adjust to life without their partner.

Employing coping mechanisms can facilitate this transition from overwhelming grief to a more manageable emotional state. Many find peace in establishing rituals or setting up tribute displays to honour their partner's memory; creating meaningful experiences can serve as a bridge between past and present. Such acts of remembrance provide a means of honouring lost love while also allowing for personal reflection, ultimately offering a sense of empowerment that fosters continuity and healing.

Additionally, the role of community and support systems cannot be overstated. I gained considerable attention from others, even from earnest, empathic strangers. This seems to mirror ideas of others, when grieving, informing them  of the loss creates  a connection  which can be instrumental in the healing process.

A life- affirming process  as storytelling can be, it offers acknowledgement and fosters a supportive environment for emotional energy as  part of significant life-events and  memories to be expressed and enjoyed.

The sharing of life- events, such as the grief and emotional  energy whereby others relate softens the fierce emotions that can arise.
Stories of love-lost, deep distress and grief foster growth including  comprehension in the community at large . From individual loss to national disasters, storytelling comprise the offsetting of negative energy thus providing the amelioration of loss in the  personal to wider community.

My belief is that although time heals, love and unconditional care heals more successfully.
