What Is It?

What is It?

You can't earn it, you can't strive for it, it's not a reward for virtue...it's something  you glimpse   in the corner of your eye until one day you're up to your neck in it.

It's something undeserved, in its crudest interpretation, karma is getting what you deserve, this is the opposite: forgiving the unforgivable.

The Passage referred to in "Easy versus Hard" essay post.

The Passage referred to in "Easy versus Hard" Post

I'm glad to provide that passage referred  to in my posted essay, Easy versus Hard, from the book of James in the New Testament of the Bible.

The passage that speaks about faith being dead without good deeds is found in James 2:14-26.

Here is the Scripture passage:

"What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them? Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to them, 'Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,' but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.

But someone will say, 'You have faith; I have deeds.' Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by my deeds. You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that—and shudder.

You foolish person, do you want evidence that faith without deeds is useless? Was not our father Abraham considered righteous for what he did when he offered his son Isaac on the altar? You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did. And the scripture was fulfilled that says, 'Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,' and he was called God’s friend. You see that a person is considered righteous by what they do and not by faith alone.

In the same way, was not even Rahab the prostitute considered righteous for what she did when she gave lodging to the spies and sent them off in a different direction? As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead."

The New Testament book of James addresses the relationship between faith and good deeds, stating that true faith will naturally result in good works. The primary passage that discusses this is above and below

James 2:14-26 (NIV):

> Faith and Deeds
> 14 What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them?
.
.
.
.
.
> 25 In the same way, was not even Rahab the prostitute considered righteous for what she did when she gave lodging to the spies and sent them off in a different direction?
> 26 As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead.

Although the above doesn't support directly my line of reasoning that God uses our doing to teach and transform our being which in turns adjusts our doing and so on. I contend that it's a subsequent benefit of being and doing aligned with our faith.

I thank God for this insight who always loves His Children especially and dispenses 'common' grace to the rest of Humanity.
If you are feeling insulted by that,  the rest of Humanity only receives common grace, then consider a father who gives good gifts to his children and gives his friends, work mates and others, other good things!

Tomorrow May be Too Late?

Tomorrow May Be Too Late?

Are We Ready For War?

Can we still work together with the US and UK?

Even when we diverge politically with our allies?

Overnight I watched a Sky News AU documentary titled; " Are We Ready for War " Although produced in 2023, It was still  stunningly eye- opening for me and I believe so for you.

Stream and view "Are We Ready for War?"

 Brief Summary and Links:

Host: Peter Stefanovic, this documentary investigates Australia's preparedness for military conflict. It features  various experts and politicians, many of whom offer a concerning assessment of the potential dangers for Australia, highlighting the need for national readiness.

 * Apple TV: It is also available to watch on Apple TV.

It is with urging for your attention, my readers, that I present  further information as another piece of a broader infoscape.

Here following  is a summary of the Australian Defence  Strategic Review report  of 2023.

Urging you to make others aware of the critical review and to generate discussion with others.

The 2023 Australian Defence Strategic Review (DSR) represents a significant  alteration  of Australia's defence policy, driven by the  rapidly deteriorating strategic environment in the Indo-Pacific. The core message is that Australia can  no longer rely on a ten-year strategic warning time for major conflict, necessitating an urgent and fundamental shift in its defence posture, structure, and capabilities.

Here are its key aspects:

1. Deterrence by Denial and National Defence Strategy:
 * The DSR moves away from a "balanced force" approach to a "focused force" strategy, primarily aimed at deterrence by denial. This means building capabilities to prevent any adversary from projecting power against Australia and its immediate region.
 * It introduces the concept of a "National Defence" strategy, which emphasizes a whole-of-nation approach, broadening defence policy to encompass diplomacy, economic security, and partnerships.

2. Shift in Force Structure and Capabilities:
 * Focus on Long-Range Strike: A major emphasis is placed on acquiring and developing long-range precision strike capabilities, including missiles and guided weapons, to hold potential adversaries at risk further from Australian shores.

 * Northern Bases Enhancement: Significant investment is directed towards improving and expanding Australia's northern military bases to enhance their resilience and operational capacity.
 * Naval Reconfiguration: The Navy is to be increased in size and capability, including the acquisition of nuclear-powered submarines (under AUKUS Pillar 1) and a greater number of surface combatants with enhanced strike and air defence capabilities.

 * Army Optimization: The Army is to be optimized for littoral manoeuvre, with a greater emphasis on long-range land and maritime strike capabilities, rather than a large infantry fighting vehicle fleet. This includes significant cuts to previously planned vehicle procurements.
 * Disruptive Technologies: The DSR highlights the need to rapidly develop and acquire disruptive technologies, such as autonomous systems, undersea warfare, hypersonics, and advanced cyber capabilities, often in collaboration with partners (e.g., through AUKUS Pillar 2).

3. Urgency and Implementation:
 * The review stresses the need for rapid implementation of its recommendations, acknowledging that the ADF, as currently constituted, is not fully fit for purpose for the new strategic circumstances.
 * It advocates for a more pragmatic approach to capability acquisition, favoring "off-the-shelf" solutions and limiting design changes to expedite procurement.
 * It calls for a continuous and iterative process of strategic updates (biennial National Defence Strategy) rather than intermittent Defence White Papers.

4. Workforce and Industry:
 * The DSR identifies a critical need to grow and retain a highly skilled Defence workforce, acknowledging current shortfalls in personnel.
 * It emphasizes lifting Australia's capacity to rapidly translate new technologies into ADF capabilities, in close partnership with Australian industry.

5. Diplomatic and Partnership Deepening:
 * The review underscores the importance of deepening diplomatic and defence partnerships with key partners in the Indo-Pacific, including the United States, and actively engaging with Southeast Asian and Pacific Island nations.

In essence, the 2023 Defence Strategic Review serves as a blueprint for transforming the Australian Defence Force into a more agile, lethal, and regionally focused force, capable of deterring aggression and defending Australia's interests in a more volatile and uncertain strategic environment.

Conclusion: In  the necessary and urgent nature of the Sky News AU documentary coupled with the DSR report,  I ask for your attention and stress that you urge others to consider the impact of the above which is needed for AU.

The Quiet Revival.

 The Quiet Revival:

Young Men leading the way, More engaging with Christianity.

Solid Uptick reverses  decades of decline.

What do women think? They are following suit!

Outside of the UK, in AU in fact, there is a similar pattern of growth among older adults.

Read the Startling Report...

The British and Foreign Bible Society recently published a report titled "The Quiet Revival", which highlights surprising growth in church attendance in England and Wales, particularly among young adults.

Here's a summary of the key findings from the report:
 * Church Growth: The report indicates that the Church in England and Wales is experiencing a period of rapid growth, challenging previous predictions of decline.
 * Young Adults Leading the Way: This growth is primarily driven by young adults, especially young men.
   * In 2018, only 4% of 18-24 year olds attended church at least monthly, which has risen to 16% today. For young men, this jumped from 4% to 21%.
   * Young people are showing greater openness to spirituality and are the most likely group to pray regularly.
 * Increased Diversity: The church in England and Wales is becoming more ethnically diverse, with one in five people (19%) coming from an ethnic minority. Nearly half of young Black people aged 18-34 (47%) are now attending church monthly.
 * Bible Engagement: While general Bible reading rates have risen, particularly among churchgoers, there's still a significant need to deepen Bible confidence, especially among young Christians.
 * Positive Impacts: Young people who attend church report higher life satisfaction, stronger community connections, and less anxiety and depression compared to non-churchgoers.

Wisdom's Call.( Re-Worked)

 Wisdom's Call (Reworked)

This article about Proverbs 8 after my introduction is what I studied in conjunction  with my Bible  passage this very morning and it proved that wisdom is always needed in every situation, event and person. If you are a man,  you need feminine energy to balance the whole person and vice versa. Although this sounds much like New Age philosophy or something from pagan teachings, it's a valid element of the ways of  human nature.

Of course you could be wondering about that sentence above. What is wisdom, you ask? Why do we need it?
Our father and mother raised us as best as possible with the circumstances available to you and them

Mistakes, errors of judgement and flaws of character  abound in  all interactions with life. Some such interactions resulting in life- long darkness and pain. Of course successful interactions lead to the coupling or marriage foundations which are the basis of all societies.

However much-needed solutions are possible if and its a huge if, we apply ourselves to learn from such events with wisdom.

Wisdom is knowledge applied.

If you already know this, then you have learned something of human nature.
However  though that statement  is so true  it belies the process itself.

We learn while living out the whole  process---hopefully.

(I don't wish to tackle the inner workings of the process itself. That is beyond the scope of this essay.)

At this point in this essay.I shall say bye for now and leave you with a picture of Wisdom as it unfolds.

Read the  rest of this essay for yourself. Thank You for following me in my life-journey via my almost daily views and thoughts expressed in my Digital Anvil blog.

Read on, fellow traveller

The  book of Proverbs, Chapter 8 of the Old Testament of the book which we call the Bible  by powerful  word-pictures or visualisation is a powerful and poetic personification of Wisdom, portraying her as a stunning woman as crying out to humanity, urging them to embrace her. It highlights the immense value and benefits of wisdom, contrasting them with folly and wickedness.
Here's a summary of the key themes and verses in Proverbs 8:
Wisdom's Call (Proverbs 8:1-11):
 * Wisdom is not hidden but boldly calls out in public places: on the heights, at the crossroads, by the gates of the city.
 * She invites all, especially the simple and foolish, to learn prudence and understanding.
 * Her words are trustworthy, true, and righteous, detesting wickedness and deceit.
 * She offers instruction and knowledge, which are far more valuable than silver, gold, or rubies.
Wisdom's Nature and Authority (Proverbs 8:12-21):
 * Wisdom dwells with prudence and possesses knowledge and discretion.
 * The fear of the Lord (reverence for God) is equated with hating evil, pride, arrogance, and perverse speech.
 * Wisdom provides counsel, sound judgment, insight, and strength.
 * Through wisdom, kings reign, rulers make just decrees, and leaders govern righteously.
 * Wisdom loves those who love her, and those who seek her will find her.
 * With wisdom come riches, honor, enduring wealth, and righteousness, better than any earthly treasure.
Wisdom's Role in Creation (Proverbs 8:22-31):
 * This section presents a profound theological concept: Wisdom existed with God from the very beginning, before creation.
 * She was "brought forth" or "formed" before the earth, the deeps, the mountains, and the fields.
 * Wisdom was present as a "master craftsman" or "architect" alongside God during creation, rejoicing in His work and delighting in mankind.
The Call to Listen and Find Life (Proverbs 8:32-36):
 * Wisdom urges her "children" to listen to her instruction and be wise.
 * Blessed are those who listen to her, watching daily at her doors.
 * Whoever finds wisdom finds life and receives favor from the Lord.
 * But those who "miss" or "sin against" wisdom harm themselves, for those who hate wisdom love death.
In essence, Proverbs 8 presents Wisdom not merely as an abstract concept, but as a vibrant, active force, intimately connected with God's very being and His creative work. It is an invitation to embrace wisdom as the path to life, prosperity, and divine favor.

Post-Modern Christianity?

Post-modern Christianity?

 Does Christianity evolve?

Post-modern Christianity is just as difficult to lock down in a concise definition as post-modernism itself. What started in the 1950s in architecture as a reaction to modernist thought and style was soon adopted by the art and literary world in the 1970s and 1980s. The Church didn’t really feel this effect until the 1990s. This reaction was a dissolution of “cold, hard fact” in favor of “warm, fuzzy subjectivity.” Think of anything considered post-modern, then stick Christianity into that context and you have a glimpse of what post-modern Christianity is.

Post-modern Christianity falls into line with basic post-modernist thinking. It is about experience over reason, subjectivity over objectivity, spirituality over religion, images over words, outward over inward. Are these things good? Sure. Are these things bad? Sure. It all depends on how far from biblical truth each reaction against modernity takes one’s faith. This, of course, is up to each believer. However, when groups form under such thinking, theology and doctrine tend to lean more towards liberalism.

For example, because experience is valued more highly than reason, truth becomes relative. This opens up all kinds of problems, as this lessens the standard that the Bible contains absolute truth, and even disqualifies biblical truth as being absolute in many cases. If the Bible is not our source for absolute truth, and personal experience is allowed to define and interpret what truth actually is, a saving faith in Jesus Christ is rendered meaningless.

There will always be “paradigm shifts” in thinking as long as mankind inhabits this present earth, because mankind constantly seeks to better itself in knowledge and stature. Challenges to our way of thinking are good, as they cause us to grow, to learn, and to understand. This is the principle of Romans 12:2 at work, of our minds being transformed. Yet, we need to be ever mindful of Acts 17:11 and be like the Bereans, weighing every new teaching, every new thought, against Scripture. We don’t let our experiences interpret Scripture for us, but as we change and conform ourselves to Christ, we interpret our experiences according to Scripture. Unfortunately, this is not what is happening in circles espousing post-modern Christianity.

Geo-Social Restoration ( Re-Worked A)

Geo-Social Restoration (Re-worked A)

Masculinity and Femininity are re-defined in post-modern Western societies.

To be a mother is considered to be a 'poor' and ‘unworthy’ role or occupation relative to those roles of Hollywood re- imagined females. Of course, this is the expected outcome of the momentum of the.'60's sexual revolution.' Since the 3rd wave Feminism, such re-definition has been more assertive with the passing decades.

To be the softer, gentler, more nurturing, robustly supportive feminine type of traditional woman is to be "weak and irrelevant."

To be weak and irrelevant. is not to be an 'integral' part of post-modern Femininity. Neo-female sexuality is increasingly used as a personal active advertisement and as a tool to be ' switched off or on' as required by the female 'activist.' Now female physical beauty with acquired masculine traits is being extolled as higher than the beauty of traditional feminine physicality and character. The outcome of this movement had gained mileage among the young and further exacerbated the decline of feminine virtues and personal character development.

This 21st century Femininity has targeted the traditional masculine role .Labeling traditional Masculinity as toxic and irrelevant is woke-ness personified. Unless the male is substantially subservient to the more demanding and dominating female, the man is substantively outside 'usefulness' for most Western societies. Such ideology is 'sold' increasingly to younger women.

Subtle dark forces are transforming, exchanging and subverting the normal roles of males and females.

However, such relegation of males to increasingly 'narrower' roles in Western cultures is disadvantageous to ‘ordinary masculine’ men. With the far future rise of AGI autonomous humanoids of the revolution of the 21st century, traditionally male occupations will be replaced by such robotic advances, further exacerbating the downward spiral of manhood.

Classic philosopher/king intellectuals would be banned in the current global sexually charged ideological climate. While the breakdown of norms of sexuality continues with the maintenance of socially constructed categories beyond that of male and female binaries, It is too early to tell whether US Trumpian legislation will halt and reverse such dark and delusional environments.

While gender dysphoria is similar to the previous tom- boys of earlier generations, it is  noted that a tiny portion of females go ahead and transform with so- called' gender- affirming' care into boys. So- called de-transitioners are being harassed by more vocal dissenters to silence these females whose lives and bodies have been irrevocably altered by chemicals and surgery. The UK Cass report findings against the  unscientific but widely adopted model of  gender treatment  is being ignored and pushed aside by elements of complicit medical and other health practitioners.

This situation aims to break- up the family unit as the main source of parental guidance, stability and upbringing in the socialisation of each new generation. This reversal of traditional gender roles is being pushed by Big Legacy Media, Big Money and Big Tech and, to a large degree, by the LGBTQ+ Agenda.

There is much evidence to  support the remarkable survey findings that since the  60's sexual revolution there are currently more younger men waiting for marriage while younger women unfortunately sport a 'high body count' and marry less. The semi-reversal of the reversal. Evidence that many of these men are casting off such  new, narrower 21 century interpretations of maleness abounds. Is there a male-led movement pushing beyond this so- called 21-century redefinition of classic maleness? It seems so.

Meanwhile, the ever-promoting influencers of gender dysphoria and political confusion brought on by left-leaning and progressive atheistic policy-makers and socialistic organisations are disrupting the status quo..  The left-leaning LGBTQ+ Agenda has co-opted the many symbols and practices of traditional Western culture since the beginning of the 20th century's hippie revolutionary cry of make love, not war. True, necessary social change hijacked into deadly confused game of socialistic and politically averse- ideological regimes

Totalitarian regimes have taken advantage of the societal woes of the West by cleverly promoting socialism, progressiveness and anti-Christian rhetoric coupled with some highly biased social media, immoral activism and techno-utopianism, transforming the youth of the Western world into the me-intoxicated, poly-amorous, anti-wrinkle, anti-heroic generation.

Can the West rescue itself from the decline of its core values and norms based on the ancient Judeo-Christian foundation?

Opinions vary from an inevitable crash to the remarkable, encouraging resurgence of Christianity seen mainly in the Asian, African and in Middle Eastern countries!

While the news of the above is surprisingly positive.

and

thanks to the enduring power and support of Christ Jesus' earnest followers, who are praying with faith and placing their lives, money and efforts at real risk into the supernatural grand scheme or exhaustive, but gentle, voluntary geo- shaping of God the Father. The Crux of the Message is...

All is going to plan.
