Ecopolitico- Isms-explained

 Economic and Political systems

    Simple

Of course the reality is a little more complex and sober. the above was prompted by an email i received wondering what and whether i had some insight in the main differences between the main 20th and 21st century political systems as simplified as possible.

Digital Reality of the West:

Digital Reality of the West.

A voice crying out in the Western Wilderness?

Thank You, my viewers and followers. When i meet people, some see in my eyes- pain, some see in my eyes- hope, some see- enthusiasm and some see-time.

I believe some see wisdom, some see themes, some see tenacity and some see commonsense in my words on my Website. A platform desiring to recapture more clarity, sanity and freedom stolen.

What they really see is the wisdom, clarity and commonsense in themselves reflected in my words in posts on my Digital Anvil website.

It's that that make them willing to listen to me as a source of inspired affirmation. It allows me to share my thoughts, desires and dreams with them in digital reality of the West becoming a voice exposing and defusing deception in the secular global realm.

That is my contribution and value. May GOD help us.

Forgive a Wrong.

When you have been wronged, a poor memory is your best response.

Never carry a grudge. While you're straining under its weight, the person with whom you're mad is out producing. Forgive your enemies- -nothing annoys them more. There is no revenge so sweet as forgiveness.

The only people you should try to get even with are those who have helped you.
"Forgiveness ought to be like a canceled note--torn in two, and burned up, so that it never can be shown against one"
(Henry Ward Beecher).

One of the greatest strengths you can display is forgoing revenge and daring to forgive an injury.

Paused for a Time

 Paused for a Time.

When you and your life take a blow?

You are His creation. He made you fit for a purpose. Therefore when you give up on your dreams, you put God in a bona-fide  limbo state. Because you limit yourself and Him with your denial of your suitability, position and availability for your life-journey.

But life cannot be limited any more than God's love can be contained. I have a choice. You have a choice. We can choose to dwell on disappointments and shortcomings. We can choose to be bitter, angry or sad. Or when faced with hard times and hurtful people we can choose to learn from the experience and move forward taking responsibility for our own happiness.

As God's child, you are beautiful and precious. worth more than all the diamonds in the world. You and I are perfectly suited to be who we were meant to be! Even still, it should always be our goal to become an even better person and stretch our boundaries by reflecting, moving forward and dreaming again.

Adjustments are necessary along the way because life isn't always rosy but it is always--- no matter what your circumstances may be-- a life worth living. I'm here to tell you that living and breathing, you have a contribution to make to this world.

More Romance, Less Souless Sex.

 More Romance, Less Souless Sex

We live in a world that worships sexual chemistry but downplays  fundamental human  nature and  the role of curiosity.

Everyone wants that spark; few are willing to tend and sustain the  essential fire. But real soul to soul connection isn’t built on urgent intensity alone, it’s built on seeking.

Learning what readies the other  for a week's chaotic adventure. Learning what wounds them and what heals them. Learning how to show up in ways that make their world a little easier to live in.Learning what else makes the other  give an enchanted look after learning about their favourite book.

Learning the names the other holds dear. Discovering that  their words share even more than  their dictionary meaning. Learning that they would  be heroic, even if it cost them their popularity. Learning more somehow by cutting out the noise to discover their true signal.

Rejoicing with them when you help them discover the truth. Learning the nature of their looks when you exchange smiles. Experiencing your first disconnect with the other. Watching pain flash across their face when confronting the ugliness of life's journey. Discovery of the other motivates self -discovery. Learning their hiding  mode and defensiveness when confronting fear or shame.

Life is recognising the messiness of human nature and dealing with it with love.

Good.

Consider the words of John Wesley:

Do all the good you can,
In all the ways you can,
In all the places you can,
At all times you can,
To all the people you can,
As long as ever you can.

Quotes: Never Quit.

 Quotes: Never Quit

The lowest ebb is the turn of the tide.     Is that True?

You will be judged by what you finish not by what you start, if you don't see results straight away, don't worry, God does not pay by the week, but He pays at the end.

If you are ever tempted to stop, just think of Brahms  who took seven long years to compose his famous lullaby because he kept falling asleep at the piano. Just kidding, but it did take him seven years.

"The reward for those who persevere far exceeds the pain that must precede the victory."

Ted Engstrom.

It is not success that God rewards but always the faithfulness of doing His will.

Woodrow Wilson had this to say,
I would rather fail in a cause that will ultimately succeed than succeed in a cause that will ultimately fail.

As we have seen, 90 percent of all failures result from people quitting too soon. It takes the hammer of persistence to drive the nail of success. Many people who fail did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.

When you get into a tight place and everything goes against you, until it seems as though you could not hold on a minute longer, never give up then, for that is just the time and place that the tide will turn.

Harriet Beecher Stowe

Woke Revolution ? (Re-Work A)

Woke Revolution? ( Rework A)

Sixties Revolution revolving and evolving into Western neo-political systems?

"The sexual and cultural revolution of the '6os, when all forms of authority were challenged and undermined and where a range of radical, liberating philosophies, including deconstructionism, postmodernism and feminist, gender, identity and postcolonial theories arose.  Which also underpin political correctness and wokeism."

As a result, literary classics, cartoons and other cultural features are deconstructed and analysed in terms of gender, ethnicity and class.  Thus the history of Western civilisation is characterised by white supremacism, imperialism and exploitation and Western societies like England, America and Australia are riven with structural sexism, homophobia, transphobia, classism and racism.

The Frankfurt school of neo- classic Marxism championed theorists of German philosopher Nietzsche apparent manifesto of Nihilism, Existentialism and Moral Relativism.

Although  already burdened by the brutal predatory  goals and economic distortions of Marxism, foolishly more theorists, politicians and professors climbed aboard the train to the ruins of the West.

While seemingly able to promote equality, diversity and inclusion, these radical cultural changes actually destroyed and victimised the very people they sought to uplift into the mortal framework of Western civilization. In the name of tolerance, brotherhood and neo -racism, you and I were made intolerant, racist and divisive.

Where does respect, understanding, and acceptance go and grow? It doesn't grow in an atmosphere of fear,self- censorship and inclusive  self-denial.

However conservative voices in the West challenged the decline of the dominance of logic,common-sense and critical thinking. While left-leaning netizens are still ravenously dominant, the culture wars of the past few decades are being bravely fought by conservatives who are rediscovering what we are and what we stand for and having core norms rediscovered are fighting to reach the fulfillment and stability of the basis of Judeo-Christian values and thought.

The Mystical Search?

Did vou start the search for Him? He started vou to search for Him, and lovingly, anxiously, tenderly guided vou to Himself... It is as Augustine of Hippo savs: He's within, and we mistakenly sought Him without. It isn't a matter of believing in the Inner Light, it is a matter of yielding your lives to Him.

The mystical Author,Thomas.R.Kelly in one of his spritual classics tells us to treat God as the central core of our lives, to search for peace among the noise of modernity and to.find satisfaction in submission to God's will and in the spiritual journey that follows.

Three Truths.

I would like to introduce you to a few truths.

Here are Three.

I like these following thoughts because I fundamentally believe that there are meaningful experiences in ALL of  the Lifestream. We never quite know what or who we shall encounter in our life- journey when we choose to forget ourselves and encounter with God and others!

 So...

Victor Frankl's therapy rests on three major assumptions:

Life always has meaning.

Life has meaning under all circumstances and at all times. There is something instinctive in the human being that leads us to want to preserve life, both for ourselves and also for those whose lives we see to be in danger. Who would not try to rescue the baby from the burning building, for instance? Logotherapy as Victor Frankl's  calls his system of beliefs insists on the meaning of life as a reality.

The greatest desire of the human being is to find meaning.
Since they have been on this earth, human beings have grappied with fundamental questions such as '"Why am I here?', 'How should I live, given that ! must die?' and 'Is there something beyond just my own existence, an overall meaning to life itself?' Logotherapy does not provide answers. It recognises that each person must grapple with and find answers to these questions.

Human beings have freedom of choice. The human being always has the capacity to make a choice, to take a stand. We have the capacity to choose meaningful directions in our life and something within us will make us uncomfortable with choosing anything else in the longer term.

Although these three assumptions are true,a further thought is that the task facing the individual is that the therapist is not offering a template or blueprint or schema or wire frame for a meaningful life but to point each person to their own unique answer.

( The above essay is based initially on Victor Frankl's system of belief. Which was based on his survival during World War 2 in a Death camp.
His experience there is its basis.)

Thanks for reading this 📫. Comments are welcome.

Quotes: Bigger than You?

Be involved in something bigger than you. God has never yet had any unqualified workers. ""We are the wire, God is the current. Our only power is to let the current pass through it" (Carlo Carretto).

Be a mind through which Christ thinks; A heart through which Christ loves; a voice through which Christ speaks; and a hand with which Christ helps.

If you really want to defend what you believe, live it.

 Dorothea Brand stated,

All that is necessary to break the spell of inertia and frustration is this: act as if it were impossible to fail.

Do a right- about- face that turns you from failure to success. One of the greatest pleasures you can find or discover is doing what people say you cannot do!

The Conquering Spirit

The Conquering Spirit

‘We have troubles all around us, but we are not defeated.’

 2 Corinthians 4:8 NCV

The Brooklyn Bridge, which links Brooklyn to Manhattan Island, is one of the most famous bridges in the world. When it was first conceived in 1867, bridge-building experts throughout the world told the designer, a creative engineer by the name of John Roebling, that his idea wouldn’t work.

Roebling convinced his son Washington, who was also an engineer, that his idea had merit. The two of them developed a concept, resolved the problems others had forecast, and enthusiastically hired a crew to build the bridge.

After only a few months of building, a tragic on-site accident took John’s life, and another event months later severely injured Washington, who became unable to talk or walk. Everyone thought the project would be abandoned, since the Roeblings were the only ones who knew the dynamics of building the bridge. Washington, however, could still think, and he had a burning desire to see the bridge finished. As he lay in his hospital bed, he had an idea. He would communicate with the engineers by using one finger to tap out in code on his wife’s arm what he wanted her to tell them. Washington tapped out his instructions for thirteen years until the bridge was built! That’s the conquering spirit.

The apostle Paul talks about it this way: ‘We have troubles all around us, but we are not defeated. We do not know what to do, but we do not give up the hope of living. We are persecuted, but God does not leave us. We are hurt sometimes, but we are not destroyed’ (vv. 8-9 NCV). Those words constitute the conquering spirit—the spirit God can give you.

More about My Digital Anvil Blog.

Sharing some events and thoughtful views.

Apart from the 606 Essays/ Graphics/ Articles i posted i would like to share a stranger- than -fiction circumstance with you.

In any given month, the Country of Origin with the most visits and therefore views are

Hong Kong

Singapore

Australia

Mexico.

The top two nations switch semi-regularly with each other-- impossible to predict which will record the highest number of views in any given month.

Mexico was a late comer/visitor to my website but  now regularly comes third or fourth place. I am puzzled but glad.

The USA never gets beyond zero views in any given month.

Australia as a source of viewers used to take the top spot but  reaches mostly second  or third in any given month recently.

My Website didn't even really "register" until i posted the Iconic photo of then former President Trump' First Assassination Attempt. After that iconic photograph, my website traffic increasingly grew month by month.

My most popular genre/ theme are my political essays. With the Middle East topic gaining the most views. But it should be noted that my Christian topic views gain a steady second level of viewership. My  personal favourites gain some favourable  views but i cannot ever predict the popularity potential of any  solo essay.

I am always surprised.

As always Your comments are Welcome.

Again, I am extremely thankful to you my viewership--for making my website possible.

The Big Question: What is God?

The Big Question: What is God?

The Philosopher’s god is an  intellectual construct of theoretical attributes such as all-powerful, all-knowing, everywhere present and infinite, and atheists are often ironically angry at him for not existing.Agnostics don't know whether to believe or to not believe.

The Big Answer: Who He Is!

Christians believe God is a knowable, personal, personable  being.

An eternal supernatural  being who acts justly, creatively, righteously, mercifully and purposely within the parameters of unconditional love, omniscience, omnipotence and omnipresence.

Much was revealed via the miraculous acts of God with the tiny family of Israel whom He chose from among the ancient nations. In time birthing the  long- awaited Messiah and who lived the perfect earthly life walking, doing good , teaching the peoples and substituting himself for the World instead  as the recipient of the just penalty reserved for them for rebelling against a holy God.

God as planned via the Man Jesus,  Christianity, founded with the  human followers known as the Apostles, establishing an entity or body called the Church whom through the centuries revolutionized the world.

"American theologian Dan DeWitt says the Bible gives an explanation for our existence, clarity for our confusion, grace for our guilt, meaning for our mortality, and answers for our adversaries. That is so much more than a set of metaphysical propositions, and it is what we need.

Perseverance and Tenacity.

All great achievements require time and persistence. Be persevering, because the last key on the ring may be the one that opens the door. Hanging on one second longer than your competition makes you a winner. Remember to become famous for finishing important,  but difficult tasks.

Only a little nut that held Its ground has been said that its a great oak.

These troubles and sufferings this short time of distress of ours are, after all, quite small and won't last very long- Yet will result in God's riches blessing upon us forever and ever! --

Loneliness and Hurt: An Alternative View.

Loneliness and Hurt

 An Alternative View

Adler said,' to get rid of one's problems, all.one can do is live in the universe all alone.' Of course, one doesn't have any problems then. Since most problems are of the people-interaction kind, then suffering is diminished.

But life is messy when you include people in the context. Just being alive is an interactive existence- potential for problems.

It's basically impossible to not get hurt in your relationships with other people. When you enter into interpersonal relationships, it is inevitable  that to varying degrees you will get hurt and you will hurt someone too.

After all when you say Yes to someone or something, you will be saying No to someone else.
Of course that begs the  next question, if one is all alone in the universe, then is one is naturally lonely?

But that's not true, since to be alone doesn't make you lonely.
Loneliness-- according to Adler ---is having other people and society and a community around you and having a deep sense of exclusion from them. To feel lonely we need other people in that context.  i can understand that's how some small populated nations feel surrounded by vast and populous countries.

The above essay is based loosely on the book,
The Courage to be Disliked

.

The Plan of GOD.for Your Life.

God has a plan for your life

We are God’s masterpiece…planned…long ago.’ Ephesians 2:10 NLT

A minister writes: ‘To the average eye, it was a mutilated piece of marble. The aborted sculpture had been abandoned a half century earlier… but a young artist named Michelangelo saw something in that stone others did not. Chiselling the eighteen-foot block of marble would consume nearly four years of his life, but that seemingly worthless stone was destined to become what many consider the greatest statue ever sculpted…

Michelangelo resurrected a dead stone and, breathing his artistry into it, brought David into existence. As he chiselled… he believed the masterpiece was already inside the stone. All he had to do was remove the excess stone so David could escape. He didn’t see what was. He saw what could be… He didn’t see the imperfections in the stone. He saw a masterpiece of unparalleled beauty.

And that is precisely how the Artist [God] sees you. ‘We are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.’ (Ephesians 2:10 NLT) Every work of art originates in the imagination of the artist. And so you originated in the imagination of God. You were conceived by God long before you were conceived by your parents. You took shape in the imagination of the Almighty before you took shape in your mother’s womb. Regardless of what others think of you, or what you think of yourself, God sees you as a potential masterpiece. To see yourself as anything other than that is to devalue and alter your true identity. And it’s in discovering your true identity that you discover God has a plan for your life.

Gifts, Skills and Talents

 Gifts, Skills and Talents

‘We all have different gifts, each of which came because of the grace God gave us.’ Romans 12:6 NCV

A pastor writes: ‘God used a seemingly random skill to strategically position David. And the slingshot skill isn’t the only example… When David played the harp, it soothed Saul’s spirit [See 1 Samuel 16:23]. That’s how David met Jonathan [King Saul’s son]. That’s how he learned the customs of the king’s court. Without his musical skills, David wouldn’t have even gotten a foot in the door!’

You never know what skill God will use for His purposes, so don’t underestimate the strangest of skills. God can use anything… for His purposes if we simply allow ourselves to be used by Him. God used Noah’s boat-building skills, Joseph’s ability to interpret dreams, and the Magi’s astrological knowledge.

No skill is unredeemable or unusable in God’s grand scheme. But here’s what you need to see: the greatest psalms came out of the worst circumstances. The most comforting psalms were written in the most uncomfortable situations. David is walking through the valley of the shadow of death. David is agonising over his adulterous affair with Bathsheba. David is a fugitive hiding out in the caves of Adullam. David didn’t want to be in any of those situations, but they produced the profound lyrics we find in Psalm 23, Psalm 51, and Psalm 142.

Maybe you’re wrestling with depression, or reeling from a mistake that seems unforgivable, or just sick and tired of being sick and tired. So you may not like your present circumstances, but they may be the key to your character development. And character development is the key to your future.

God Will Use You as You are:( Conclusion )

YOU...

....don't need to do anything else for God to begin to use you now.

You don't have to read another book, listen to another series of sermons, memorize another passage, plant another seed gift, or repeat another creed or confession. You don't even need to attend another church service before God can use you. God uses willing vessels, not brimming vessels. Through- out the Bible, in order to fulfill His plans for the earth, God used all kinds of people from all walks of life:

Jeremiah, a child who fearlessly spoke the Word of God
Aaron, a servant who became God's spokesman of the Lord.
Nicodemus, a Pharisee who became a defender of the Faith.
David, a shepherd boy who became a king.
Hosea, a marital failure who prophesied to save Israel.
Joseph, a prisoner who became prime minister.

Esther, an orphan who became a queen
Elijah, a homely man who became a mighty prophet.
Joshua, an assistant who became a conqueror.
James and John, fishermen who became close disciples of Christ and were known as the 'sons of thunder"
Abraham, a nomad who became the father of many nations.

John the Baptist, a homeless man who became the forerunner of Jesus.
•Mary an unknown virgin who gave birth to the Son of God.
Nehemiah, a cupbearer who built the wall of Jerusalem.
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, Hebrew exiles who became great leaders in the Babylonian Empire.

Hezekiah, an idolatrous father's son,
who became a king renowned for doing right in the sight of the Lord.
Isaiah  a man of crude, unworthy lips who prophesied the coming of the Messiah.

Paul a self-righteous persecutor who became the greatest missionary in history and the author of two-thirds of the books of the New Testament.

What is your story, will you be another unknown overlooked by the people that surround you each day? Every muscle, idea and feeling tuned to being useful to somebody. Loved by some intelligent, beautiful stranger who notices you while others don't. Often you yearn, pray and put yourself out to be seen, heard and talked about like the others whom the crowd ooohs and aahs  with unfeigned delight. There is One. The crowd should applaud but instead responds with apathy at best and  boos with hostility at most?

The Audience of One!

As you will see,all GOD wants is You. But He wants you truly now. Will you answer the Call?

Failures and the Present.

I am...

....amazed by how many individuals mess up every new day with yesterday,

"They insist on bringing into today the failures of yes- terday. In so doing, they pollute a potentially wonderful day. "

The best thing we can do with the failures of the past is to let them be history. Yes, it happened. Certainly it hurt. And it may still hurt, but we acknowledged our failures and asked for His forgiveness, We can't erase the past, but we can accept it as history. We can choose to live today free from the failures of yesterday.

Of course as we are aware,Jesus said to the woman caught in adultery, "where are your accusers?" ( they had dropped their rocks and left one by one)  'neither do i condemn you' ( mercifully) but (justly), 'go and sin no more.'

Struggles and Scars.

Struggles and Scars

Enemies wound, Friends heal, Yeshua transforms

I have a friend who has
struggled with depression at times in her life. Sometimes when she was very low, she resorted to cutting her arms. This is always an act of desperation. She has only shown a few people the results of this behaviour.

One of the first people she showed her scars to reached out and touched her arm. As she did, she said that she was not so much concerned about these scars, but rather the scars on the inside. What an insightful statement this is.

While the scars on my friend's arms are a demonstration of what happens when you feel desperate, the scars on the inside are what do the most damage - scars of emotional pain and distress that refuse to heal or mend.

Jesus said that He will heal us at every level. Jesus can heal us physically, but just as importantly, Jesus will heal the scars on the inside as well. The painful memories and experiences that wound you over and over again can be taken to Jesus who loves, cares and forgives.

it should be noted that this friend  of mine is no longer in my circle of friendships.  So i cannot update you on her life-journey. The last i know of her is that her parents were divorcing and this caused her to cut herself. It was a cry for help and she was hospitalised. I was--at the time-- advised to not further involve myself as she really needed professional help. Although i felt that i was deserting her, i followed that advice.

Critics and their Says.

 Critics and their Says

Critique oneself safely or else someone else will rule you.

To succeed in life you must overcome the many efforts of others who would cut you down.
I.learnt today how I respond to unjust criticism is a solo yet important decision i make. My initial reaction was to think that i was wholly at fault.

But that faulty thinking within hours was rejected. After evaluating the overall performance of the critic and their perception of the matter, I lifted up my thoughts in prayer and received peace in return.

Echoes of the  untoward circumstances foundered upon the rocks of almighty God's perspective.

Wiser minds than mine confirmed that nothing significant has ever been accomplished without controversy or criticism. Stopping the unjust words, stopped the  negative clanging of the bell announcing noisily its faulty clamour.

It's easy to fault, harder to praise.

I thank my friends who attended to this event with a saner perspective.

First Thing First.

First Thing First

Get into the habit of dealing with God about everything. Unless in the first waking moment of the day you learn fling the door wide back and let God in, you will work a wrong level all day; but swing the door wide open a prayer to your Father in secret, and every public thing will stamped with the presence of God.

Bridges of the cool kind?

Have you ever failed or made a mistake? Good, then this little surprise is for you. The fact that you've failed is proof that you're not finished. Failures and mistakes can be a bridge, not a barricade, to success. Progress  through fear is  stepping stones taken one at a time.

Fear: that Anxiety- Ridden State.

Never be afraid to trust your unknown future to an all knowing God.

A famous old poem put it this way.

Said the Robin to the Sparrow,
I should really  like to know
Why these anxious human beings
Rush about and worry so.

Said the Sparrow to the Robin,
I think that it must be
That they have no Heavenly Father
Such as cares for you and me.

After Romance, Then...

....think about the breakfast conversations. the way they respond when you tell them about your dreams that sound too unrealistic. whether they dismiss it, or whether their eyes light up like it’s their own. think about how they handle disappointment, anger, the sudden swell of money or the lack of it. because love is not about the way someone holds you when you’re beautiful, it’s about the way they look at you when you’ve failed. it’s about the way they react when you’re wrong, when you’re lost, when you’re not your best self.

Daily Nudge by Karl Faase

Believing the Star Signs.

Today, like every other day, millions of people will turn to the astrology pages of papers, magazines and websites to see what their star sign tells them about their prospects. They are convinced that their date of birth has influenced their personality and their future.

A study carried out by universities in Germany and Denmark looked at 15,000 people and found no evidence to support a link between personality, intelligence and birth dates. It seems that checking our star signs in the paper is more about entertainment than useful information.

There are many who want to put Christian faith and star signs in the same category. They think that none of it can be believed; it's all about superstition. So is there a difference?

I believe there is a spiritual side to life and that belief in Jesus is completely different from star signs. Jesus was a real person whose life, words and actions are recorded in history for us. Christian faith, unlike the stars, is not based on wishful thinking but on human history and dependable experience.

A paramilitary group has been accused of war crimes in Sudan after it attacked a hospital, killing 460

A senior Sudanese official has accused a paramilitary group of war crimes in the country’s west.

Last week, the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) took over the city of el-Fasher, with the UN reporting the group attacked a hospital, killing 460 people.

At a press conference on Sunday (local time), Sudan’s ambassador to Egypt, Imadeldin Mustafa Adawi, confirmed the country’s government will not negotiate with the RSF to end almost three years of civil war.

Background

In April 2023, civil war broke out in Sudan between two rival military factions: the RSF and the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF).

In October 2024, the UN accused the RSF of “major” attacks on civilians, including “rampant sexual violence” against women and girls.

In April 2025, the SAF regained control of much of the capital city, Khartoum, nearly two years after it was taken by the paramilitary group.

The RSF controls much of the country’s west, including Darfur.

el-Fasher

el-Fasher is the capital city of the North Darfur state. As of late October, it had a civilian population of roughly 260,000 people.

Until last week, el-Fasher was the only major city in the region not under RSF control, which had been trying to capture it for 18 months.

The city has been cut off from humanitarian aid since February 2025, meaning civilians were trapped inside with little food, water, or medicine, while also being regularly attacked.

Last week, the World Health Organisation (WHO) reported the RSF had killed at least 460 people on el-Fasher’s only functioning hospital.

The strike was part of a broader rampage in the city, which resulted in the RSF taking control.

UN official Tom Fletcher said there were “credible reports of widespread executions” once the RSF entered el-Fasher.

The total death toll is unknown, but Yale Humanitarian Research Lab (HRL) analysis of satellite imagery shows “evidence of alleged mass killings” by the RSF.

Ethnic cleansing

HRL’s report said that following the RSF takeover, “el-Fasher appears to be in a systematic and intentional process of ethnic cleansing of... Indigenous non-Arab communities through forced displacement and summary execution.”

According to the Red Cross’ dictionary of international law, ethnic cleansing is the process of removing members of an ethnic or religious group from an area “by violent or terror-inspiring means”.

HRL said the RSF’s actions “may be consistent with war crimes... and may rise to the level of genocide.”

The HRL’s report is the latest in a series of allegations that the RSF is committing serious human rights violations in Sudan.

In January, the U.S. Government said the RSF was murdering “men and boys – even infants – on an ethnic basis,” and raping women and girls “from certain ethnic groups”.

In July, ICC Deputy Prosecutor Nazhat Shameen Khan told the UN Security Council she and her team believe war crimes are being committed in Sudan, and that evidence is actively being gathered to support future cases.

Then, in August, the Sudan Doctors Network accused the RSF of targeting and killing people in Darfur based on their ethnicity.

It alleged an RSF massacre of 13 people was part of an “ongoing campaign of ethnic cleansing and genocide”.

On Sunday, Sudan’s ambassador to Egypt, Imadeldin Mustafa Adawi, called on other governments to list the RSF as a terrorist organisation.

Adawi has accused the RSF of carrying out war crimes. He also claims the group is backed by the United Arab Emirates. The UAE has denied this.

Response

The majority of civilians fleeing el-Fasher have headed to the nearby city of Tawila. The UN reports that around 650,000 displaced people are already sheltering there.

UNICEF said an estimated 130,000 children in the city are “at a high risk of grave rights violations, with reports of abduction, killing and maiming, and sexual violence.”

WHO has also called for an end to the hostilities in el-Fasher and across Sudan, to allow for the “safe, rapid, and unimpeded humanitarian access.“
